Mike Francesa criticized former Knicks president Phil Jackson during an appearance on “Desus and Mero,” on Thursday claiming the legendary coach “stole” the hefty salary he received from the team from 2014 to 2017.
“He [Knicks owner James Dolan] brought Phil Jackson in, he gave him a ton of money, he gave him carte blanche, and Phil basically decided to put up his feet up and retire,” Francesa said. “I mean, that’s really what happened. And he basically stole $60 million, that’s what he did. Without a mask, without a gun, he stole $60 million.”
Francesca’s opinion is likely shared by other Knicks fans, as Jackson made some questionable decisions as a Knicks executive.
