MacLeod, Suns all-time wins leader, dies at 81

John MacLeod, the winningest coach in Phoenix Suns history, died Sunday, the team announced. He was 81.

MacLeod, who was the head coach for the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks after leaving the Suns, had a career record of 707-657, with 579 of his wins coming with Phoenix. He also won a franchise-record 37 playoff games with Phoenix, where he was the head coach from the 1973-74 season through 56 games of the 1986-87 campaign.
