It started with a backhanded sucker punch from Danny Ferry of the Spurs, a punk shot, up above Marcus Camby's eye. Camby was cut now, at the end of maybe the best game the Knicks have played yet, in what is turning out to be a wonderful season for them. And suddenly an afternoon game on Martin Luther King Day had turned into a bad fight card at the Garden, or some wrestling program out of the past.
Camby started for Ferry, who had already hit him with a cheap-shot elbow in this game.
