Luke Kornet might be why Knicks traded Willy Hernagomez

With Kristaps Porzingis out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL and Willy Hernagomez now gone, after being traded to the Charlottoe Hornets on Wednesday, rookie Luke Kornet got a chance to play on Thursday Wednesday night.

Kornet played in his first NBA game after playing in the G League for most of the season. Despite a blow out loss to the Toronto Raptors, he scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Not bad for a debut.

Bill Pidto of MSG Network made a great point after the game. He pointed out that Kornet could be why the Knicks were so willing to move on from Hernagomez.
