New Knicks head coach David Fizdale is casting a wide net looking for assistant coaches, but the search still has a decidedly local flavor.
New York City native Royal Ivey, an assistant coach on the Thunder, interviewed with the Knicks recently. The Knicks also are speaking with New Jersey native and former Nets assistant Pat Sullivan, as well as Jud Buechler.
The Post has confirmed interest in the trio; the Athletic was the first to report Ivey being considered, while ESPN first reported the latter pair.
Buechler is an assistant with the Lakers, while Sullivan — now with the Clippers — was a Pistons assistant when Knicks GM Scott Perry was an executive with the club.
