WHITTIER, Calif. (CBSNewYork/AP) — An LAPD detective investigating an accusation of rape against Knicks star Derrick Rose was found shot to death at a suburban Los Angeles home, officials said.
Detective Nadine Hernandez, who was frequently assigned to high-profile cases, was found Tuesday in Whittier, California, with a gunshot wound, said LAPD Officer Liliana Preciado. She died at a hospital.
Whittier detectives have not said if they’re investigating the death as a homicide or suicide. However, The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that it was a suspected suicide.
“At this time, there are no signs of foul play, and this incident is being investigated as a suicide,” Whittier police told the newspaper.
