It’s time to put those “Kyrie Irving” Knicks jerseys on hold.
The Celtics point guard doesn’t sound like a man with a plan to hit the free-agent market next summer, instead telling fans at a team event he intends on re-signing with Boston.
“If you guys will have me back, I plan on re-signing here,” Irving said to a loud cheer Thursday night at TD Garden.
And the five-time All-Star may not have just been trying to please the crowd, either.
Irving also has made the message that he’s committed to the team long term clear to Celtics ownership in recent months, according to The Athletic.
