Kurt Rambis has mixed feelings on potential replacement Luke Walton

SAN FRANCISCO – Knicks interim coach Kurt Rambis says the Warriors have taken on the selfless playing style of his former Lakers pupil, Luke Walton.

Walton, a Warriors assistant coach, served as the interim for back-impaired Steve Kerr and guided defending champion Golden State to a 39-4 start. Walton has emerged as a hot head-coaching candidate. Knicks president Phil Jackson has Walton at the top of his list if he moves away from Rambis.

However awkward the implication, Rambis was asked Wednesday about the job Walton did stepping in for Kerr. Rambis praised his former player for getting the Warriors motivated and staving off opponents who are hunting for the world champions.
