LAS VEGAS — For one night, Kristaps Porzingis became a bigger tourist attraction than Cirque du Soleil, David Copperfield and the Hoover Dam.
The Latvian Mamba Show lasted only 18 minutes — he has been bothered by a sore hip — but Porzingis turned in a quality performance in his summer-league debut at the Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday as those boos he heard last month were replaced by a kinder, more encouraging sound.
“It was the opposite of what I heard on draft night,” Porzingis said. “It was nice to hear some cheers out there.
