Kristaps Porzingis’ injury more heartbreak for troubled franchise

Has it ever been this scary to be a Knicks fan?

Over the years, it’s been disappointing. It’s been irritating. And, more than a few times, it’s even been downright embarrassing. But until Tuesday night, when fans witnessed Kristaps Porzingis, their marquee player, rolling around on the floor clutching his left knee, it hasn’t been truly frightening.

That’s right. Two days before Thursday’s trade deadline, the player the Knicks are looking to build around for years to come left their game against the Bucks in severe pain. Porzingis appeared to injure himself after converting a dunk and landing awkwardly on Giannis Anteto kounmpo’s foot.
