Know the Prospect: Tristan da Silva

After joining the New York Knicks in a midseason trade, Precious Achiuwa played well as both a backup and starter. When Julius Randle suffered a season-ending dislocated shoulder, Achiuwa’s contributions became especially important. Now, after making $4.3M last season, he is due a new contract.

If the Knicks can’t (or decide not to) re-sign him, why not consider Colorado forward Tristan Da Silva (6’ 8”, 220 lbs) as a replacement backup forward? Da Silva is a tall wing who excelled as a shooter at Colorado. As one of the oldest prospects in the draft, he is also among the most league-ready players, due to his ability to score off cuts, catch-and-shoot attempts, dribble handoffs, and in isolation.
