The Knicks made the first of what could be several moves to clear the way to signing Tim Hardaway Jr.
Marshall Plumlee was waived Friday morning, getting his $1.3 million salary off the Knicks’ books. They also likely have to renounce Derrick Rose’s rights and also may have to waive Chasson Randle.
The Knicks signed Hardaway, a restricted free agent, to a four-year, $71 million offer sheet Thursday night. The Hawks received the signed offer sheet Thursday night and has two days to match the offer sheet, which includes a 15-percent trade kicker and a fourth-year player option.
