Mitchell Robinson is a major-league prospect, everyone around the Knicks agrees. He just may be spending some time in the minor leagues.
Robinson, the Knicks’ second-round pick, will return to the floor for the preseason finale Friday against the Nets after missing the past two games due to a sprained ankle. But the absence underlined the reality for the 20-year-old center: He hasn’t played much since finishing high school in 2017 — he enrolled at Western Kentucky last fall, but ultimately withdrew without playing a competitive college minute and went straight into the draft — and remains desperately in need of minutes and polish.
