The New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves could pull off one of the biggest trades of the 2016-17 NBA regular season. Though it may not command as much attention as the DeMarcus Cousins trade, New York and Minnesota could swap starting point guards.
That rumor began in recent days, and with the trade deadline less than 24 hours away, the Knicks and Timberwolves continue to discuss a potential deal.
The foundation of the rumored trade is that Minnesota has interest in trading for Knicks point guard Derrick Rose. Tom Thibodeau, now the Timberwolves head coach and president of basketball operations, coached Rose between 2010 and 2015 with the Chicago Bulls.
