The New York Knicks finished the 2016-17 NBA regular season at 31-51 overall and 19-22 at Madison Square Garden. New York missed the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season and failed to live up to the hype that was created this past offseason.
As the Knicks attempt to determine the best course of action for the future of the organization, all eyes have turned to Phil Jackson and Carmelo Anthony.
Jackson stunned the masses when he openly stated his belief that Anthony would be better off playing for a different team. He praised Anthony for his character and effort, but stated that his timeline no longer matched up with the direction of the team.
