The New York Knicks have wholeheartedly embraced the modern NBA big man. Although Phil Jackson still holds on to the hope that traditional big men Willy Hernangomez and Joakim Noah can excel, he’s effectively named versatile power forward Kristaps Porzingis his franchise player.
With the 2017 NBA Draft nearing, it appears as though Jackson is giving consideration to the possibility of complementing Porzingis with a similarly skilled big.
Hernangomez and Porzingis have superb chemistry that was forged well before they arrived in New York. Encouraging as that promising young duo is, depth is paramount in the NBA and the Knicks may have a chance to acquire it.
