It’s no secret that Steve Mills and the New York Knicks are in active pursuit of a point guard to pair with Frank Ntilikina. New York has been in contact with a vast majority of the point guards on the open market, including multiple former All-Stars.
As the primary point guard options are pulled off the open market, Mills appears to be turning his attention to an under-the-radar player.
New York has reached out to the likes of George Hill, Jrue Holiday, Shelvin Mack, Rajon Rondo, and Jeff Teague. Hill, Holiday, and Teague all signed lucrative contracts elsewhere, however, which has thus resulted in the need for creativity on the free agent front.
