The New York Knicks didn’t take long to open the floodgates of the 2018 NBA offseason. Within hours of the completion of the 2017-18 regular season finale, the Knicks informed head coach Jeff Hornacek and associate head coach Kurt Rambis of their dismissal.
As the Knicks survey the basketball landscape and search for a new sideline general, their eyes have been averted to the collegiate scene.
New York has had four full-time head coaches since the beginning of 2011-12: Mike D’Antoni, Mike Woodson, Derek Fisher, and Jeff Hornacek. Kurt Rambis coached 28 games as an interim head coach following Fisher’s departure in 2014-15.
