Phil Jackson‘s coaching search has been thrown a curveball in the most beneficial of ways. It’s less of a curveball and more of a fastball that’s been served right down the middle of the plate with two outs and the New York Knicks down just one run in the ninth inning.
To tie the game would be a return to the playoffs, and while other outcomes at the plate could chip away at the dream of scoring, none would produce instant gratification quite like the the home run of hiring Frank Vogel.
There are a number of quality options available to the Knicks, but Vogel has the track record—and, seemingly, the desire—to make this work.
