The Summer League is a great way for an NBA team to develop its young talent’s confidence. Playing against the best in the world can be exhausting, and going up against players their age can allow said rising stars to shine while playing in a free-flowing system.
It’s also an outstanding tool for teams to evaluate players who are currently flying under the radar.
For the Knicks, the likes of Ron Baker, Marshall Plumlee, and J.P. Tokoto are expected to represent the team at Summer League 2016. Other names have been, and will continue to be, added to the list, but those three offer an idea of what New York is looking for: youth and potential.
