The New York Knicks just brought Hasheem Thabeet in for workouts this week, but with a full roster and a nearly complete group of 20 players for training camp. That diminished his chances to join the team, especially with other teams already bringing him in for light sessions.
However, the Knicks had another player around for workouts — one who is a familiar and popular face with fans.
According to Sports Illustrated‘s Jake Fischer, New York had Carmelo Anthony in for “informal 5-on-5 scrimmages” Thursday morning.
Newsday‘s Mike Rose and Steve Popper added that “workout doesn’t mean much and isn’t an indication that he is returning to the Knicks.
