Knicks rookie Kevin Knox sprains left ankle; X-rays negative

NEW YORK -- Knicks rookie Kevin Knox suffered a sprained left ankle in the first quarter of Saturday's game against the Boston Celtics.

The severity of Knox's injury is unclear. The Knicks said X-rays for Knox are negative.

Knox, 19, turned his ankle on a hard drive to the basket. It was a non-contact injury. He didn't put any weight on his left leg after the injury and was helped off the floor by teammates.

Knox was disqualified from the remainder of the game because he couldn't shoot the subsequent free throws.
