Knicks president Steve Mills gave no indication he’s going to be hot on Jimmy Butler’s trail, despite the star putting the franchise on his wish list Wednesday in his trade demand.
Mills all but repeated his Monday remarks that the Knicks aren’t going out of their way to chase free-agent-to-be players by giving up serious assets. Butler will be a free agent this summer but wants out of Minnesota. The Nets and his top choice, the Clippers, round out his list.
“Our process and feel with how the team and season is going and how we’re going to build this team hasn’t changed since we talked about it a year ago, hasn’t changed since I talked about it [three] days ago,” Mills said during a pre-training camp press conference Thursday at the Garden Theatre.
