This is a good day to talk about effort since so many New York teams are in the throes of dark despair, especially the Giants and the beyond woeful Jets.
The Knicks are trying to sell the city on their latest particular rebuild, and yes they have shown some signs of progress. And better days should be ahead, but if a team can’t defend just a little bit in this NBA — just a little bit — this rebuild will crumble.
