Mark Jackson isn’t the only ex-Knick who has been contacted about the team’s coaching vacancy.
The Knicks reportedly reached out to Jeff Van Gundy, the team’s former coach from 1996-2001, about returning to fill the opening created by Thursday’s firing of Jeff Hornacek. Speaking Friday on “The Michael Kay Show,” Van Gundy wouldn’t rule out a coaching return.
“I always keep changing my answer to the same question,” Van Gundy said, when asked if he would be interested. “Now that the job is available, I can say I just don’t talk about coaching searches. I don’t think it does anybody any good.
