PORTLAND, Ore. — Blame UCLA.
Knicks rookie center Mitchell Robinson likely would have made his return here Monday night if not for a mishap at the UCLA gym. Instead, Robinson is out indefinitely with a new injury: a sore groin.
At Friday’s workout at a UCLA gymnasium, Robinson was doing sprints as he finished his rehab from a sprained ankle. It didn’t go well, partly because of a slick court.
“I just slipped,” Robinson told The Post. “I was sprinting back — the court wasn’t an NBA court. It was a little slippery.”
Robinson was a game-time decision that night against the Lakers but experienced groin soreness.
