Saturday, August 13 was a momentous day for the New York Knicks. Two key offseason acquisitions squared off as Mindaugas Kuzminskas led Lithuania against Willy Hernangomez and Spain at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Though the game ended in a lopsided manner, both men played well enough to offer reason for intrigue.
Hernangomez scored nine points in 17 minutes as Spain defeated Lithuania 109-59. He shot 3-of-5 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw in a continuation of what’s been an efficient showing at the Olympics.
The 22-year-old continues to offer Knicks fans reason for excitement.
