Though it’s true that the biggest motivation for Thursday's trade was the financial flexibility to sign two max contracts this offseason, the Knicks do appear relatively high on the one player that could potentially have a future in New York: Dennis Smith Jr, who dropped a triple double against the Knicks Wednesday night at the Garden.
