HARDWOOD CLASSICS: 1953-61
This season, after more than a half century, the Knicks will once again display one of the most unique uniform designs in NBA history when their latest edition of “Hardwood Classics” uniforms pays homage to those worn during the period from 1953 through 1961.
As with virtually all Knicks uniform designs, the traditional team colors of orange and blue will be featured, along with a “no trim” (or “no frills”) look to the letters and numerals that marked this early NBA era. But what sets this uniform apart --- then and now --- is the horizontal alternating orange-and-blue trim around the neck, the arm holes, and especially down the sides of the jersey and the shorts.
