Knicks go from disgrace to inspired to squashed in wild thriller

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — It was a disgrace of a first half — 24 minutes of a team looking like it already had quit on the season.

But it turned out the Knicks had only quit on the half. Derek Fisher’s team rallied from a 27-point lead, went up by two points for its first lead of the game with 2:37 left, before falling by the wayside again in losing 111-105 in a nationally televised seesaw.

In the wackiest of nights at The Palace, the choking Pistons rallied when Anthony Tolliver hit a 3-pointer to give the Pistons the lead again.
