The New York Knicks do not have the necessary cap space to offer a maximum contract in free agency, but that can still mean they find a way to clear room for the biggest names. Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving and Kemba Walker are among the players that will hit the open market.
Kevin Durant is the prized acquisition of them all, however, and, according to Frank Isola of the Athletic (subscription required), he’s New York’s top target in 2019 free agency, and president Steve Mills is “all-in” on him.
