The New York Knicks have made their first move in free agency. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Julius Randle has agreed to a three-year, $63 million contract, with a team option for the third season.
In 73 games with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018-19, Randle averaged 21.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists on 52.4 percent shooting. It was his only year with the franchise after four seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.
This is not a superstar free agent, but the Knicks have found a starting power forward to play next to Mitchell Robinson in the frontcourt.
