Knicks find way to make 40th loss sting as badly as the rest

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Knicks didn’t score a victory, but maybe scored a few pride points in rallying from a 19-point deficit to tie in the final seconds.

But the season of misery continued as second-year man Skal Labissiere buried a left-wing 3-pointer over Kyle O’Quinn with 2.6 seconds left to give the Kings a 102-99 victory at Golden1 Center and the Knicks their 40th loss — a stinger.

Two days after getting smoked by the Clippers in Los Angeles, the Knicks weren’t up to the task against the 19-win Kings, who ripped the visitors in the third quarter — Jeff Hornacek’s club’s Achilles’ heel.
