The Knicks are on the verge of securing some much-needed backcourt help, working to finalize a deal with free agent Tony Wroten, a source confirmed.
It's expected to be a multi-year pact with few guarantees after this season. Wroten would slide into New York's final roster spot vacated by Jimmer Fredette.
As reported by the Daily News, the Knicks met with the 22-year-old two weekends ago in New York. He was originally selected 25th overall by the Grizzlies in the 2012 draft, but was waived in December by the Sixers. He tore his ACL last season.
The Knicks were also looking at point guard Ray McCallum, who was recently waived by the Spurs.
