The Knicks awarded a male fan $1,000 in lottery scratchers for hitting a half-court shot Friday, according to ESPN, which left others surprised — especially after the same shot netted someone $100,000 at a Lakers home game last week.

In the past, the Knicks have offered a $10,000 prize for hitting half-court shots, including at least once last season.
The Knicks ended up losing on Friday to the Pelicans, 123-111.
