The Knicks are on the verge of reacquiring former NBA MVP Derrick Rose from Detroit, according to a report on Sunday.
The proposed trade — in which the Knicks would send Dennis Smith Jr. and a second-round pick to the Pistons – will reunite Rose for a third go-round with Tom Thibodeau, who coached Rose in Chicago and Minneapolis.
The Knicks are 11-14 after Sunday’s 109-103 loss to the Heat at the Garden.
Julius Randle led the Knicks with 26 points. Reggie Bullock added 21, 18 of them on six first-half three-pointers. Alec Burks (13 points) was the only other Knick to score in double figures.
