When the Knicks traded for Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic in early February, the deal was supposed to help elevate the Knicks into the top tier of contenders. The Knicks sorely needed a scoring punch off of the bench, and that’s exactly what they were getting. Alec Burks was someone who had been around before, someone who was familiar with what was expected out of Coach Thibs.
Back in 2021, he had some impressive playoff moments too, dropping 27 in Game 1 of the infamous Knicks vs. Trae Young series.
It wasn’t crazy to expect him to do similar things once again.
