Kevin Seraphin’s Knicks debut nears — but with what role?

When Knicks backup center Kevin Seraphin missed a preseason game in Washington on Oct. 9 with a swollen right knee, he vowed he would be playing the next time the Knicks visited Verizon Center, which will be Saturday.

Seraphin may make good on the prediction, because there’s a chance he will make his Knicks debut when they visit the Wizards. At worst, Seraphin will debut Monday against the Spurs at the Garden.

The Knicks on Friday upgraded Seraphin’s status to questionable. Where he will fit into the rotation is unclear, unless coach Derek Fisher removes Lance Thomas, who surprisingly has been solidly in the rotation in both games.
