Last season, Kevin Knox was a magnet for every eye in Madison Square Garden.
Every dribble was dissected. Every shot studied. Every move found outsized meaning, potentially foreshadowing the future of the Knicks lottery pick.
Now, the focus has faded, and shifted to a far more hyped draft pick (RJ Barrett), currently leading the Knicks in scoring, and carving out his place as a franchise centerpiece.
Knox no longer starts. He plays fewer minutes. He takes fewer shots.
And his future has never looked better.
After starting 57 games as a rookie, Knox is coming off the bench for the first time in his life, and coming into his own as the knockdown shooter the Knicks envisioned when drafting him 16 months ago.
