Enes Kanter has not been shy to publicly recruit star players about coming to New York, but the Knicks center claims no responsibility for the billboard posted this week near the Garden imploring former Thunder teammate and potential 2019 free agent Kevin Durant to “make NY sports great again.”
“I didn’t see that, I will definitely look at it, though,” Kanter joked after practice Thursday, one day ahead of Durant and the Warriors invading MSG to face the Knicks. “But It was not mine, no. I didn’t pay for it. Waiting for the summer.”
A marketing company actually posted the billboard on 7th Avenue depicting an illustration of Durant holding the NBA’s Larry O’Brien Trophy, alongside injured Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis and the hashtag #KDNY2019.
