The mystery of the disappearing Jose Calderon has been solved. The Spanish point guard and ham maven sat out the entire second quarter of Wednesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks, and appeared to be limping. Now we know why:

"Contused quad" sounds painful, but not serious long-term. Either way, the Knicks don't really have anything to play for, so they might as well play it safe with their 34-year-old point guard.
Rookie Jerian Grant started the second half in Calderon's place, which is pretty cool.
