Jeurys Familia escapes jam to keep perfect saves record intact

The Mets lineup remains as dangerous as a Chihuahua, but Jeurys Familia is still batting 1.000.

The team’s closer pulled off a Houdini act Thursday night, closing out his 27th save in as many opportunities after putting men on second and third with no outs to seal the Mets’ slump-busting 4-3 victory over the Cubs at Citi Field.

“Just an unbelievable job. He’s been very, very good for two years,” Mets manager Terry Collins said. “We just hopefully [can] get him in there a little bit more and not [have him] sit around for four days like he’s had to do.
