James Harden drops 61 points as Rockets top Knicks

The two biggest questions came down to the final minutes — would James Harden smash Carmelo Anthony’s Madison Square Garden scoring record of 62 points? And could the Knicks pull off a miracle upset?

Neither happened Wednesday night, but it was a back-and-forth thriller nonetheless as Harden struck for 61 points, hit two key throws with 29.9 seconds left and the Rockets pulled it out 114-110 victory, giving the Knicks their 10th straight home loss.

Harden’s fastbreak bucket with 1 second left tied an opponent’s scoring record at the Garden that was set by Kobe Bryant in 2009.
