If Phil Jackson wasn’t already making the maximum allowable for a team president he would certainly deserve a raise for drafting Kristaps Porzingis, don’t you think?
Now we know why several league executives had Porzingis pegged as the top overall pick in the NBA draft. Golden State’s Ron Adams, voted the top assistant coach by general managers in a recently released poll on NBA.com, told me in July that he would have drafted Porzingis No. 1 in 2014. As in last year.
Luckily for the Knicks, Porzingis withdrew his name from draft consideration and re-applied in 2015.
