Isiah Thomas hired as president of WNBA's Liberty

Isiah Thomas isn't really back at MSG because in theory he's never left.

James Dolan re-hired his long-time friend as president and part-owner of the WNBA Liberty, Thomas confirmed on Tuesday.

The move immediately raises questions about the future of current Knicks president Phil Jackson just weeks after the club finished with a franchise worst 17-65 record.

"I am not involved with the Knicks," Thomas told the Daily News.

Jackson is in the second year of a five-year contract.
