Tom Thibodeau never came close to becoming the Knicks coach, even as he was the highest-profile free-agent coach not coaching last year. He wound up in Minnesota, and it’s been fun seeing him and his ultra-Type-A personality adjust to the Timberwolves, composed of some of the league’s most talented (and headstrong) youngsters.
Thibodeau never worked here. But you can hear his words all around New York as they apply to the art and the craft of dealing with Derrick Rose, and keeping Rose on the court. Jeff Hornacek seems to channel some of Thibs’ greatest hits, in fact.
