CLEVELAND — The Cavaliers say guard Iman Shumpert was arrested last month on suspicion for driving under the influence.
Shumpert was arrested on Aug. 10 in Fayette County, Georgia, following a traffic stop for a lane violation. The NBA champion Cavs said it has discussed the situation with Shumpert and “will monitor the progression of the pending case.”
No court date has been set. The team said it will not have any further comment while the legal process unfolds.
Shumpert has spent two seasons with the Cavs, who acquired him in a 2015 trade with the New York Knicks.
