Alright, what’s Plan B?
Greg Monroe isn’t coming to the Knicks.
The offensively skilled free agent forward, who was coveted by Knicks president Phil Jackson, has agreed to sign a maximum contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to Yahoo Sports.
USA Today reported the Knicks did not offer Monroe a max deal.
After reaching terms earlier Thursday with shooting guard Arron Afflalo on a two-year, $16 million pact, the Knicks have roughly $19 million remaining in cap space to spend this offseason.
Monroe, the former Detroit Piston, gets his payday from New York-based Bucks owners Marc Lasry and Wesley Edens and joins a young, athletic squad coached by Jason Kidd.
