It’s dangerous to make too much of anything you see in the preseason. Teams play a small number of games in circumstances that are often wildly different than the regular season.
So any results in preseason should be taken with a grain of salt. Case in point: The Cleveland Cavaliers went 1-6 in the exhibition season. Still, there are some aspects of preseason worth paying attention to.
One example: The Knicks showed a level of competence not seen often last season, an encouraging sign for those with a vested interest in the team. There were other aspects worth looking at, too.
