While many fanbases often claim former players as part of their eternal family, very few, if any, fanbases do so like Knicks fans.
While there are a handful of former Knicks that have become villainized, the majority of former players are beloved, rooted for, and welcomed back with the patented phrase, “once a Knick, always a Knick”. Nate Robinson is no different.
Robinson didn’t win any awards, lead the Knicks to the playoffs, or make any All-Star teams. In fact, he only averaged 12.5PPG in five season as a Knick. But he has a special place in many fans’ hearts for being one of the lone bright spots for an era of Knicks basketball that was otherwise filled with ineptitude, failures, and embarrassments.
